The significant science-to-practice translational gap is a long-standing issue in health care, and the translation of demonstrated evidence-based treatment for substance use disorders (SUDs) to broad delivery is no exception. Current initiatives in the United States emphasize greater focus on successful dissemination and implementation strategies for delivering empirically supported treatments to close the gap (Onken et al. 2014). Digital technology offers a promising platform for broad dissemination of evidence-based approaches to treatment of SUDs and related conditions.
